The Banana Pi BPI-R4 Pro (4E) Router Kit is a ready-to-deploy networking platform built around the MediaTek MT7988A (Filogic 880) quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 processor. It comes with 4GB DDR4 RAM, 8GB eMMC and 256MB SPI-NAND flash onboard. The kit ships fully assembled with two heatsinks, a BE14 Wi-Fi 7 module, a BE14 cooling fan, a 4010 cooling fan, a white sheet-metal enclosure and antennas, so you can move from unboxing to configuration quickly. It is an upgraded version of the BPI-R4.

The MediaTek Filogic 880 platform supports tri-band Wi-Fi 7 across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands, with 320 MHz channel width, 4096-QAM, MLO, MRU and AFC. The MT7988A also includes the MediaTek Tunnel Offload Processor System (TOPS), which offloads tunnelling protocols to keep routing throughput high. With two 10G SFP+ ports, 2.5G RJ45 ports, NVMe storage support and 4G/5G cellular expansion, the board suits home gateways, custom routers, network-attached storage and communication projects.
