The Banana Pi BPI-R4 Pro is an open-source router board built on the MediaTek MT7988A (Filogic 880) network processor. It has a quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 CPU running at 1.8 GHz, 4GB DDR4 RAM, 8GB eMMC flash and 256MB SPI-NAND flash. It is the upgraded version of the BPI-R4 and suits developers and system integrators building high-throughput routers and gateways.

The Filogic 880 platform supports Wi-Fi 7 access point, router and gateway designs with up to 36 Gbps of wireless throughput. The Wi-Fi 7 companion chip supports 320 MHz bandwidth, 4096-QAM, MLO, MRU and AFC across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. The MediaTek Tunnel Offload Processor System (TOPS) handles tunnelling protocols in hardware, which reduces CPU load. Wired connectivity includes 2.5G RJ45 ports, 10G SFP+ ports, and M.2 slots for 4G/5G cellular modules and NVMe SSDs.
