The VCNL4040M3OE is a highly integrated proximity and ambient light sensor that combines a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and high-power infrared emitter in a compact SMD-8 package. Built using advanced CMOS technology, the device integrates photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital conversion circuitry into a single chip, enabling accurate proximity detection and ambient light measurement while minimizing board space requirements. The 16-bit high-resolution ambient light sensor delivers excellent performance across a wide range of lighting conditions, making it suitable for both dark and high-transparency cover lens designs.
