Description

Ionizing radiation is an invisible and intangible threat that can be found not only in nuclear power plant reactors, but also in our natural environment and from outer space. Our bodies are generally able to withstand the natural background radiation that we encounter on a daily basis. However, it's important to be aware that certain materials, such as natural marble building materials, colored gems, and "negative ion powder" of unknown composition, may contain radioactive elements. A Geiger counter can detect the presence of these radioactive sources. It's important to be aware of and take precautions against ionizing radiation to protect our health and safety.

The Geiger counter is a device that is specifically designed to detect ionizing radiation, such as nuclear radiation, X-rays, and cosmic rays. It is not able to detect electromagnetic radiation, such as the radiation emitted by microwave ovens, mobile phones, WiFi devices, and induction cookers. In addition to its use for detecting ionizing radiation, the Geiger counter can also be used as a random number generator. The unpredictable ionization events caused by high-energy particles can provide a source of truly random numbers, rather than numbers that are generated using a fixed algorithm.

Note
This product is not a professional measuring instrument and is only suitable for principle research and teaching demonstration. Not for use in radiation dose measurement that directly affects personal safety.

FAQs:

Q: What types of radiation can the Gravity Geiger Counter Module detect?

A: The module can detect ionizing radiation, such as nuclear radiation, X-rays, and cosmic rays. It cannot detect non-ionizing radiation like microwave oven radiation, mobile phone radiation, WiFi radiation, or induction cooker radiation.

Q: What kind of output does the module provide?

A: The module provides a digital pulse output when it detects radiation. This output can be connected to a microcontroller or other device to measure the radiation level.

Q: Can the module be used as a random number generator?

A: Yes, the module can be used as a true random number generator. The undetermined high-energy particle ionization events provide enough random entropy to generate truly random numbers.

Q: What is the voltage range for powering the module?

A: The module can be powered by a voltage range of 3.3V to 5V.

Q: Is the module easy to use?

A: Yes, the module is designed for easy installation and use. It has a simple interface and can be connected to a microcontroller or other device using standard jumper wires.
