Banana Pi BPI-CM4 Compute Module with Amlogic A311D, 5 TOPS NPU, 4 GB LPDDR4 and 16 GB eMMC

The Banana Pi BPI-CM4 is a compact compute module powered by the Amlogic A311D processor, combining 4 x Arm Cortex-A73 cores with 2 x Arm Cortex-A53 cores for embedded computing, multimedia and AI applications. It integrates an Arm Mali-G52 MP4 GPU and a dedicated NPU that delivers up to 5.0 TOPS of AI performance for compatible deep neural network workloads. This configuration includes 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 16 GB eMMC flash, providing onboard memory and storage for Android, Linux, and embedded software applications.

The module follows a 55 x 40 mm compute-module form factor with 2 x 100-pin board-to-board connectors and is designed for use with compatible carrier boards, including Raspberry Pi CM4 baseboards with interface limitations. Due to A311D pin constraints, the BPI-CM4 supports 1 x HDMI, 1 x MIPI CSI, and 1 x MIPI DSI interface, whereas Raspberry Pi CM4 platforms may expose additional display and camera interfaces. Other supported connectivity includes Gigabit Ethernet and Mini PCIe expansion, making the module suitable for AI edge devices, industrial controllers, embedded vision systems, and custom carrier-board designs.
