The BME680 Breakout is a powerful sensor module designed to measure multiple environmental parameters, including temperature, humidity, pressure, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It is based on the BME680 chip, which integrates all these sensors into a single package, enabling accurate measurements with minimal power consumption.
This breakout board features an I2C interface, making it easy to interface with a wide range of microcontrollers and single-board computers. It also includes a voltage regulator and level shifting circuitry, allowing it to work with both 3.3V and 5V systems. The board is compact and lightweight, making it ideal for use in portable and wearable devices.
The BME680 chip on the breakout board is capable of measuring temperature from -40C to 85C, humidity from 0% to 100%, pressure from 300 hPa to 1100 hPa, and VOCs from 0.05 to 50 ppm. It also includes advanced power-saving features such as low-power modes and programmable interrupt functions. This makes it an excellent choice for applications that require accurate environmental sensing while minimizing power consumption.
The BME680 Breakout is a versatile and reliable sensor module that can be used in a wide range of applications, including indoor air quality monitoring, weather stations, and personal health trackers. Its small size, low power consumption, and multiple sensor capabilities make it a popular choice among hobbyists and professionals alike.
Environmental Sensor: An environmental sensor is a device designed to measure and monitor various environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and more. These sensors are critical in providing accurate data to help scientists, engineers, and policymakers make informed decisions about environmental management and conservation. With the increasing awareness of the impacts of climate change, environmental sensors are becoming more important in understanding the changes in our environment and developing effective strategies to mitigate them. They can be used in a variety of settings such as homes, schools, and workplaces to ensure that indoor air quality is healthy and safe for occupants. Additionally, environmental sensors are also commonly used in industrial applications to monitor the emissions of pollutants and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
This BME680 sensor is a great sensor. I worked with the Arduino IDE and the sensors worked perfectly. I was able to get the temperature, humidity, and pressure data.
After searching for a quality BME680 Breakout, this is the only one I could find that worked, and once I got it I was very happy with the results. I love the quality and the ability to use this with the Raspberry Pi and Arduino.
