SGP30 TVOC and eCO2 Air Quality Sensor with I2C and Grove Interface
The M5Stack U088 Unit Mini TVOC/eCO2 is a compact digital gas-sensing module based on the Sensirion SGP30 multi-pixel gas sensor. It is designed for indoor air-quality monitoring and provides processed Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC) and equivalent carbon dioxide (eCO2) readings. The SGP30 integrates multiple metal-oxide sensing elements, a temperature-controlled micro-hotplate, and digital signal processing in a compact sensor package.
The module communicates through I2C at address 0x58 and provides TVOC readings from 0 to 60,000 ppb and eCO2 readings from 400 to 60,000 ppm. On-chip baseline compensation supports long-term measurement stability, while humidity compensation can be applied using data from an external humidity sensor. The HY2.0-4P Grove interface enables convenient connection to M5Stack controllers, and two LEGO-compatible mounting holes simplify mechanical integration into air-quality monitors, ventilation systems, and IoT projects.
