The M5Stack A098 Atomic SPK Base is a compact digital-audio expansion base designed for M5Stack ATOM-series controllers. It integrates the NS4168 power-amplifier IC with an I2S digital-audio interface and supports automatic sample-rate detection and adaptive operation. With a supported sampling-rate range of 8–96 kHz, the base provides a convenient platform for building compact audio players, notification devices, Wi-Fi speakers, and other embedded sound applications.
The base integrates a microSD card slot for storing and reading audio files and provides both a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a 1.25 mm 2-pin external-speaker interface. The NS4168 delivers up to 1W amplifier output at a 3.3V supply, and the package includes a 1W@8Ω speaker for direct audio playback. Its ATOM expansion interface carries the required I2S audio and SPI microSD signals, allowing the connected controller to handle both digital-audio output and file storage.
