The Fermion MAX30102 PPG Heart Rate and Oximeter Sensor V2.0 is a compact biometric sensing module designed for accurate heart rate and blood oxygen saturation monitoring. Built around the Maxim MAX30102 optical sensor and an onboard microcontroller, the module uses PhotoPlethysmoGraphy (PPG) technology to measure pulse rate and SpO2 levels. Integrated signal processing and embedded algorithms allow the module to directly output processed heart rate and blood oxygen data, significantly reducing the computational burden on the host microcontroller.
Designed for wearable devices, health monitoring systems, fitness equipment, and IoT applications, the module supports both I2C and UART communication interfaces for flexible integration. The onboard processing capability simplifies development by eliminating the need for complex signal analysis and algorithm implementation on the main controller. Its compact breakout-board design makes it suitable for rapid prototyping as well as commercial product development.
Key FeaturesThis MAX30102 biometric sensor has an integrated MCU that interprets raw optical signals directly, allowing for direct measurement of heart rate and blood oxygen levels without the need for sophisticated algorithm development. This integrated architecture streamlines wearable health monitoring projects and speeds up prototype deployment for makers and embedded developers.

This PPG heart rate sensor supports both I2C and UART communication interfaces, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of development platforms, including Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi. Direct data output enables fast integration into portable health electronics and IoT monitoring systems.

This optical pulse sensor supports upper computer systems for direct PC-based data display and monitoring. Developers may easily monitor heart rate and SpO2 levels in real time for system debugging, testing, and long-term monitoring research. This MAX30102 sensor module, with its compact size, low power consumption, and integrated biometric processing, is ideal for wearable electronics, portable healthcare devices, smart fitness systems, and long-term physiological monitoring applications that require accurate pulse and blood oxygen measurement.
