Automotive Digital Latching Hall Effect Sensor For High Speed Motor And Rotary Encoding Applications

The DRV5015A1EDBZRQ1 Automotive Hall-Effect Sensor is a high-sensitivity digital latching magnetic sensor designed for high-speed motor control and position-sensing applications in automotive systems. Qualified to AEC-Q100 standards, the sensor provides reliable magnetic field detection across a wide operating temperature range from -40 C to +150 C. Its digital latch operation requires alternating north and south magnetic poles to change output states, making it ideal for brushless DC motor commutation, speed sensing, and rotary encoding applications.

Operating from a 2.5 V to 5.5 V supply, the DRV5015A1EDBZRQ1 offers a fast 30 kHz sensing bandwidth for accurate detection in high-speed rotating systems. The high magnetic sensitivity of +/-0.7 mT typically allows the use of smaller and lower-cost magnets while providing greater flexibility in sensor placement. Integrated hysteresis improves noise immunity and switching reliability, while the open-drain output supports direct interfacing with automotive control electronics.

Key Features

  • AEC-Q100 Qualified: Designed for automotive applications and harsh environments.
  • Digital Latching Operation: Requires alternating between north and south magnetic poles to switch the output.
  • High Magnetic Sensitivity: Typical magnetic threshold of +/-0.7 mT.
  • Fast Sensing Bandwidth: Supports up to 30 kHz magnetic sensing.
  • Wide Operating Voltage: Operates from 2.5 V to 5.5 V.
  • Open-Drain Output: Supports up to 20 mA output current.
  • Integrated Hysteresis: Improves switching stability and noise immunity.
  • Wide Temperature Range: Operates from -40 C to +150 C.
  • High ESD Protection: HBM Level H3A and CDM Level C6 classifications.
  • Compact SOT-23-3 Package: Suitable for space-constrained automotive designs.
