Description
It's a mini HDMI decoder board! So small and simple, you can use this board as an all-in-one display driver for TTL displays, or perhaps decoding HDMI/DVI video for some other project. This breakout features the TFP401 for decoding video, and for the touch version, an AR1100 USB resistive touch screen driver. The TFP401 is a beefy DVI/HDMI decoder from TI. It can take unencrypted video and pipe out the raw 24-bit color pixel data - HDCP not supported! It will decode any resolution from 25-165MHz pixel clock, basically up to 1080p. We've used this breakout with 800x480 displays, so we have not specifically tested it with higher resolutions.
Q: What is the maximum resolution supported by the TFP401 HDMI/DVI Decoder?
A: The TFP401 decoder can handle resolutions up to 1080p.
Q: Does the TFP401 decoder support audio output?
A: No, the TFP401 is a video decoder only and does not support audio output.
Q: What type of touch screen does the TFP401 with touch support?
A: The TFP401 with touch supports 4-wire resistive touch screens through the integrated AR1100 driver.
Q: What TTL displays are compatible with the TFP401 breakout board?
A: The TFP401 breakout is specifically designed for Adafruit's 40-pin TTL displays, particularly their 5" and 7" 800x480 displays.
Q: Can the TFP401 breakout board be powered from a USB port?
A: Yes, the TFP401 breakout board can be powered and programmed via its USB port. For the touch version, the USB port also handles touch data.
