The SparkFun IN100 NanoBeacon Lite Board offers a widely used 2.4 GHz wireless low-energy BT beacon breakout, requiring minimal programming and boasting remarkably low power consumption. It incorporates the IN100 NanoBeacon by InPlay, which adheres to various standard 2.4 GHz protocols and includes configurable features that effectively minimize power usage. This enables continuous operation in the field for multiple years, even when connected to a device. The board is an excellent choice for applications such as wireless sensor monitoring, asset tracking, retail beacons, or creating customized beacon tags for real-time location monitoring.
To power the IN100, a single 3V coin cell battery can be utilized. We have included a 12mm coin cell battery holder (CR1225 battery not included) on the board for this purpose. Additionally, a Qwiic connector has been incorporated, facilitating seamless integration into our expanding Qwiic ecosystem. One side of the board exposes a UART interface through a 0.1"-spaced through-hole header, allowing for easy connection to a Serial Basic module for serial communication. On the other side, four of the IN100's GPIO pins (4-7) are broken out, along with the two I/O power switch pins (SW0 and SW1). Lastly, a designated "Notes" section has been included on the back of the board, providing space for writing any relevant information or labels to quickly differentiate between different NanoBeacon boards.
