SparkFun IoT RedBoard – ESP32 MicroPython Development Board: Powerful & Python-Ready IoT Platform

The SparkFun IoT RedBoard – ESP32 is a feature-rich development board built around the ESP32-D0WDQ6 chip, specially programmed to run MicroPython out of the box. This makes it ideal for rapid prototyping with SparkFun’s 40+ MicroPython-capable Qwiic modules, IoT projects, and embedded applications. With dual-core Xtensa LX6 processors running up to 240 MHz, integrated WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), and Bluetooth v4.2 (BR/EDR + BLE), it provides a versatile platform for both low-power sensor networks and high-demand applications like streaming, voice encoding, and MP3 decoding.

The IoT RedBoard integrates SparkFun’s Qwiic Connect System, enabling solder-free I²C connectivity to an expanding ecosystem of sensors and peripherals. It also features a microSD card slot for data logging, a JST connector for LiPo batteries, and a built-in MCP73831 charger with MAX17048 fuel gauge for battery management. With USB-C connectivity (CH340G USB-to-serial), secure OTA firmware updates, and built-in TLS 1.2 hardware acceleration, this board is a developer-friendly platform for building secure IoT systems.
