With integrated WiFi and Bluetooth, the SparkFun IoT Brushless Motor Driver is a robust and user-friendly motor driver that can manage any three-phase BLDC! But you won't have to search for your own motor because of our on-board three phase brushless gimbal motor, which guarantees the highest performance and dependability. It has the high-performance motor driver TMC6300 from ADI + Trinamic, which enables you to operate the motor using a microcontroller like the ESP32 WROOM that is built inside the board. For a variety of Internet of Things applications, including managing robots, drones, and other high-performing gadgets, the SparkFun IoT Brushless Motor Driver is ideal.
The TMC6300 is a three-phase motor driver that is strong and user-friendly, capable of driving motors up to 2 amps (1.4 artz). The three half-bridges' independent high-side and low-side control provides amazing control over every stage of the motor commutation process. We've discovered that the TMC6300 motor driver functions nicely with the Arduino Simple Field Oriented Control library.
To close and improve the control loop, a field-oriented control (FOC) algorithm needs some feedback. As a result, we used Texas Instruments' TMAG5273 hall-effect sensor and INA240A1 current sensor amplifiers into the design of the IoT motor driver board. This makes it possible for users to integrate current sensing and a position sensor into any feedback control loop or FOC algorithm they choose to create.
FAQs:
Q: What types of motors can this driver control?
A: The driver can control any 3-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor using the onboard TMC6300 driver.
Q: What are the communication interfaces available on this driver?
A: The driver features both WiFi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for wireless communication, along with serial UART for wired communication.
Q: Does this driver support regenerative braking?
A: Yes, the TMC6300 driver on board supports regenerative braking, allowing the motor to act as a generator and return energy to the system when slowing down or stopping.
Q: What is the maximum current this driver can handle?
A: The driver can handle up to 10A continuous current and 20A peak current.
Q: What software or libraries can I use to control this driver?
A: The driver is compatible with the Arduino IDE and the SparkFun Qwiic ecosystem. It also supports various communication protocols like I2C, SPI, and UART for easy integration with other devices.
