The SparkFun DataLogger IoT - 9DoF serves as a preprogrammed data logger that seamlessly records data from IMU, GPS, pressure, humidity, and distance sensors. Remarkably, this functionality doesn't require any coding effort. The DataLogger effortlessly identifies, sets up, and logs Qwiic sensors. It caters particularly to users seeking to effortlessly accumulate extensive data into formats like CSV or JSON, allowing them to swiftly return to their larger-scale projects. Data can be stored on a microSD card or transmitted wirelessly to a preferred Internet of Things (IoT) service.
Embedded within each DataLogger IoT is an IMU that facilitates automatic logging of readings from a triple-axis accelerometer, gyro, and magnetometer. While the original 9DOF Razor relied on the older MPU-9250, the DataLogger IoT adopts the ISM330DHCX by STMicroelectronics and MMC5983MA from MEMSIC. The operation is simple: power up the DataLogger IoT, set up the board to record data from supported devices, and initiate the logging process. Timestamps can be applied when synchronized with NTP, GNSS, or RTC time sources.
FAQs:
Q: What sensors are included in the SparkFun Datalogger IoT 9DoF?
A: The datalogger includes an onboard 9DoF IMU (accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer), and supports additional Qwiic environmental and GPS sensors (not included).
Q: Can I use this datalogger without any programming knowledge?
A: Yes, the datalogger comes pre-programmed, allowing you to start logging data to a microSD card or cloud service without writing any code.
Q: Which cloud services are compatible with the datalogger?
A: The datalogger supports various IoT services like MQTT, AWS IoT, ThingSpeak, Azure IoT, Arduino Cloud, and more, enabling you to easily send data to your preferred platform.
Q: What is the battery life of the datalogger?
A: The datalogger has a built-in LiPo battery charger and supports low-power logging, with a sleep current of approximately 200µA when sleep mode is enabled. Battery life will vary depending on usage and configuration.
Q: What is the sampling rate of the datalogger?
A: The datalogger can be configured to take readings from 1 reading every 24 hours to about 26 times a second with default sensors, allowing you to adjust the sampling rate based on your needs.
