Clicky Cherry MX2A Blue Mechanical Key Switch with Tactile Feedback and 50 Million Actuation Life
The SparkFun Cherry MX2A Blue is a clicky mechanical key switch designed for custom keyboards, replacement keyboard assemblies, and embedded human-machine interfaces. It combines a distinct tactile bump with an audible click at the actuation point, providing clear physical and acoustic feedback with every keypress. This switching characteristic makes the MX2A Blue well-suited for typing-focused keyboards, programmable keypads, control interfaces and applications where positive input confirmation is preferred.
The MX2A generation improves on the original Cherry MX architecture with factory-applied premium lubrication, an optimised precision coil spring and refined housing geometry for smoother movement and reduced spring noise. Its two-part switching stem produces the characteristic tactile and click response, while self-cleaning gold crosspoint contacts support reliable electrical switching and corrosion resistance. The housing also includes a recess for a standard 3 mm LED and remains compatible with standard Cherry MX keycaps and PCBs. The switch is rated for 50 million actuations for long-term keyboard and interface applications.
