Description
The SGP40 Air Quality sensor is based on the new SGP40 digital VOC sensor chip from Sensirion, a well-known manufacturer. Using Sensirion's CMOSens technology, the SGP40 offers a complete sensor system on a single chip, including a temperature-controlled micro-hotplate and a humidity-compensated indoor air quality signal. In combination with Sensirion's powerful VOC algorithm, the sensor can directly evaluate indoor air quality. It has low power consumption (2.6mA) and a fast response time (2s). The sensor can be used to evaluate air quality without the need for calibration.
The compact and small size of this Breakout SGP40 Air Quality sensor makes it suitable for long-term indoor projects, such as retrofitted air purifiers and kitchen hoods. C and Python libraries are also provided for use with different main controllers.
Note: VOC index is obtained by converting the detected ethanol equivalent in air.
