Description
The BNO055 is a novel sensor IC that enables the implementation of an intelligent 9-axis Absolute Orientation Sensor. This System in Package combines a triaxial 14-bit accelerometer, a triaxial 16-bit gyroscope, a triaxial geomagnetic sensor, and a 32-bit microcontroller.
Despite its small size of 5.2 x 3.8 x 1.1mm, the BNO055 outperforms comparable discrete or system-on-board solutions, and it is currently the smallest sensor-hub product that supports Windows 8.1.
The BNO055 not only provides individual data for each of the three sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, and geomagnetic), but also integrated data, such as quaternions, Euler angles, or vectors. In addition, the built-in MCU simplifies the algorithm processing, providing support for applications such as smartphones and wearable devices.
