The TP4056 is a highly efficient, single-cell Li-ion battery management system designed to deliver reliable charging with precision. Its compact SOP-8 package with an integrated heatsink simplifies portable and space-constrained applications. This versatile charger operates with USB power or adapter power supplies, eliminating the need for external isolation diodes thanks to its PMOSFET architecture and anti-reverse charging design. Its thermal feedback system ensures safe operation by automatically adjusting the charge current to prevent overheating during high-power or high-temperature conditions.

With a fixed charging voltage of 4.2V and customizable charging current using an external resistor, the TP4056 ensures optimal battery performance and safety. It features an intelligent termination process that halts charging once the current drops to 1/10th of the set value, preserving battery life. When input power is disconnected, it minimizes leakage current to less than 2μA, and its shutdown mode reduces supply current to a mere 55μA. Additional safety features include undervoltage lockout, battery temperature sensing, automatic recharge, and two LED status indicators for real-time monitoring.
