The TLV62084DSGR from Texas Instruments is a compact, high-efficiency 2A synchronous step-down (buck) converter designed for low-voltage power management in space-constrained applications. Operating from a 2.7V to 6V input voltage range, this converter is ideal for systems powered by single-cell Li-Ion batteries or 5V rails. Using DCS-Control (Direct Control with Seamless transition into Power Save Mode) architecture, it achieves excellent load transient performance, precise voltage regulation, and high efficiency across the entire load range.

At medium to heavy loads, the TLV62084 operates in PWM mode for optimal efficiency and stable regulation. During light loads, it automatically enters Power Save Mode (PSM) to minimize power loss, making it well-suited for battery-powered and energy-efficient systems. The internal compensation circuit simplifies design by allowing the use of a wide range of output capacitors while maintaining stability and fast response. Additional built-in features—such as Power Good output, thermal shutdown, 100% duty cycle for lowest dropout, and output discharge function—enhance system reliability and protection. Housed in a compact 2mmx2mm WFDFN-8 (WSON) package with a thermal pad, the TLV62084 delivers exceptional performance, thermal efficiency, and board space savings.
