5V Single-Supply Voltage Supervisor IC with Reset Controller for Microprocessor and Microcontroller Systems

The TL7705AIDR is a reliable supply-voltage supervisor designed to provide reset control in microprocessor and microcontroller-based systems. Developed by Texas Instruments, this device monitors system supply voltage and generates a reset signal when undervoltage conditions occur, ensuring stable startup and reliable system operation.

During power-up, the device activates the RESET output when the supply voltage reaches approximately 3.6 V. Once the SENSE input exceeds the internal threshold, an internal delay timer begins counting before releasing the reset outputs. This delay ensures that the power supply and processor stabilise before normal operation begins. If the monitored voltage drops below the defined threshold during normal operation, the supervisor automatically asserts the reset signals again to protect the system from malfunction or unpredictable behaviour.

Key Features

  • Supply Voltage Supervisor: Monitors system supply voltage for undervoltage conditions.
  • Designed for 5V Systems: Optimised for microprocessors and microcontrollers operating at 5V.
  • Automatic Power-On Reset: Ensures proper system startup during power-up.
  • Integrated Delay Timer: Provides controlled reset release after voltage stabilisation.
  • Dual Reset Outputs: Includes RESET and complementary RESET outputs for flexible system control.
  • Undervoltage Detection: Automatically triggers reset when supply voltage drops below threshold.
  • Improved System Reliability: Prevents incorrect processor operation due to unstable power supply.
  • SOIC-8 Package: Suitable for surface-mount PCB designs.
