High-Resolution 24-Bit, 4-Channel I2C ADC for Precision Voltage Measurement

The SparkFun Qwiic 24-Bit ADC – 4 Channel (ADS1219) is designed for applications where standard microcontroller ADCs fall short. Built around the Texas Instruments ADS1219, this breakout delivers ultra-high resolution voltage measurements, making it ideal for precision sensing, instrumentation, and low-level signal acquisition. With support for four single-ended inputs or up to two differential input pairs, it offers flexibility for a wide range of analog measurement scenarios.

Optimised for low-power operation, the ADS1219 supports single-shot, continuous-conversion, and power-down modes, allowing designers to balance measurement speed and power consumption. The Qwiic interface ensures simple, solder-free integration into 3.3V I2C systems, while configurable reference inputs and gain settings enable accurate measurements down to the nanovolt range. Built-in 50Hz and 60Hz noise rejection further improves reliability in electrically noisy environments.

Key Features:

  • 24-Bit High-Resolution ADC: Up to 24-bit resolution with 20-bit effective performance
  • Flexible Input Configuration: Four single-ended inputs or one/two differential pairs
  • Low-Noise Precision Measurement: Nanovolt-level LSB size with programmable gain
  • Multiple Operating Modes: Single-shot, continuous conversion, and power-down
  • Wide Voltage Support: Operates from 2.3V to 5.5V (3.3V via Qwiic)
  • Qwiic Connectivity: Dual Qwiic ports for easy I2C daisy-chaining
  • Configurable I2C Addressing: Supports up to 16 devices on one bus.
