Raspberry Pi GNSS pHAT with u-blox DAN-F10N for Meter-Level Dual-Band Positioning and Timing Applications

The SparkFun GNSS Flex pHAT – DAN-F10N is a modular GNSS expansion board designed for Raspberry Pi and compatible single-board computers that require reliable, meter-level positioning and precise timing. Built around the u-blox F10 dual-band GNSS engine, this pHAT supports L1 and L5 signals across multiple global constellations, offering improved accuracy and robustness in urban and challenging RF environments. The GNSS Flex ecosystem allows easy module replacement or upgrades without redesigning the carrier, making it ideal for long-term projects and scalable deployments.

This GNSS pHAT integrates essential interfaces such as UART, PPS, USB, Qwiic (I2C), and microSD, enabling fast prototyping for navigation, timing, asset tracking, robotics, and IoT applications. With onboard antenna switching, U.FL and SMA connectors, configurable jumpers, and GPIO isolation, it provides flexibility for both internal and external antenna use while maintaining signal integrity. Security features like spoofing and jamming detection, along with secure boot support from the DAN-F10N receiver, make it suitable for professional and industrial positioning solutions.

Key Features:

  • Dual-Band GNSS Support: L1 and L5 operation for improved multipath mitigation and urban accuracy
  • Multi-Constellation Reception: GPS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, NavIC with wide SBAS coverage
  • Raspberry Pi Compatible: 40-pin header socket with GPIO isolation jumpers
  • Modular GNSS Flex Design: Swappable GNSS Flex modules via 40-pin socket
