Description

The SparkFun WM8960 Audio Codec Breakout stands out as a high-quality stereo codec offering excellent performance while consuming minimal power. It comes equipped with 1W Stereo Class D speaker drivers and headphone drivers, ensuring superior audio output. Serving as both a stereo audio ADC and DAC, the WM8960 utilizes the I2S communication protocol, which is distinct from I2C, a different data protocol.

Packed with a range of features, this audio codec boasts advanced on-chip digital signal processing capabilities. These capabilities encompass automatic level control (ALC) for line or microphone inputs, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), pop and click suppression, as well as the flexibility to configure I2S settings and analog audio pathways through software using I2C.

Included in this version of the SparkFun Audio Codec Breakout are pre-soldered male headers for convenient use and integration.
