Description

This octal bus transceiver enables asynchronous two-way communication between data buses. The control-function implementation reduces external timing requirements. The SN74LV245AT can transmit data from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, depending on the logic level at the direction-control (DIR) input. The output-enable (OE) input can be used to disable the device, ensuring that the busses are properly isolated. To maintain the high impedance state during power up or power down, OE should be connected to VCC via a pullup resistor; the minimum value of the resistor is specified by the driver's current-sinking capabilities. This device is completely specified for partial-power-down applications that use Ioff. When the device is turned off, the Ioff circuitry disables the outputs to prevent dangerous current backflow.
