Description

This 16-bit (dual-octal) noninverting bus transceiver is rated for 1.65- to 3.6-volt VCC operation. The SN74ALVCH16245 gadget allows for asynchronous communication between two data buses. The logic levels of the direction-control (DIR) and output-enable (OE) inputs activate either the B-port or A-port outputs, or both output ports are set to high impedance mode. When the B-port outputs are turned on, the device sends data from the A bus to the B bus, and when the A-port outputs are turned on, it sends data from the B bus to the A bus. The input circuitry on both A and B ports is always active and requires a logic high or low state to prevent excessive ICC and ICCZ. To maintain the high impedance state during power up or power down, OE should be connected to VCC via a pullup resistor; the minimum value of the resistor is specified by the driver's current-sinking capabilities. Active bus-hold circuitry maintains unused or undriven inputs in a valid logic state. The use of pullup or pulldown resistors in the bus-hold circuitry is not advised.
