Description
PiTray mini is a carrier board designed to build clusters with Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4). It is similar in size and mounting hole placement to a Raspberry Pi Model B, making it easy to stack on top of existing clusters. CM4 offers some advantages over the Raspberry Pi 4B in industrial applications, such as the availability of variants with built-in eMMC storage for faster and more reliable disk I/O. In addition, CM4 has models without WiFi and Bluetooth chips, which can save energy and computing resources when these modules are disabled. PiTray mini is an ideal choice for cluster builders as it has a minimal layout and solid module mounting, as well as Gigabit Ethernet and power support. It is also a good starter kit for CM4, featuring an eMMC boot switch for easy flashing of the operating system image to eMMC, and a micro SD card socket for CM4 Lite (which does not have eMMC and requires a micro SD card).
