Description
The 24GHz millimeter-wave radar sensor is a device that uses FMCW and CW multi-mode modulation and has a separate transmitter and receiver antenna structure. When in use, the sensor emits FMCW and CW radio waves into the sensing area. These waves are reflected by moving, micro-moving, or weakly moving targets in the area and are converted into electrical signals by the millimeter-wave MMIC circuit within the sensor system. These signals are then sent to the processor and processed using related signal and data algorithms to extract information about the targets.
The millimeter-wave radar sensor has the ability to detect the presence, stillness, and motion of humans, but its response speed is slower than that of a digital infrared motion sensor, at around 2-4 seconds. To increase both response speed and accuracy, it can be used in combination with a digital infrared motion sensor. Additionally, by incorporating light and temperature sensors, this millimeter-wave radar sensor can be used in smart home applications, such as controlling lights, air conditioners, and other household furnishings.
The sensing results of the millimeter-wave radar sensor can be output through the serial or I/O port, and the sensor module is known for its strong sensing reliability, high sensitivity, small size, and ease of use and integration.
