PIR Motion Sensor Unit with 500 cm Detection Range and HY2.0-4P Interface
The M5Stack U004 PIR Unit is a passive pyroelectric infrared motion sensor designed to detect changes in infrared radiation from people or other warm objects. When motion is detected, the module outputs a high-level signal and maintains the output during its delay period, supporting repeated triggering until the detection condition ends. This makes it suitable for presence detection, automatic lighting, security systems, and other motion-triggered embedded applications.
The sensor provides a detection distance of up to 500 cm with a sensing angle below 100 degrees. It communicates with compatible M5Stack controllers through PORT.B using the HY2.0-4P interface and supports development with UIFlow and Arduino. With a static current below 60 uA, an operating-temperature range from -20 C to +80 C and 2 LEGO-compatible mounting holes, the U004 can be integrated into compact automation, IoT, and interactive projects. A 2-second delay applies after motion detection is triggered.
