LMR62014XMFX/NOPB – Boost Switching Regulator IC 2A SOT-23-5

The LMR62014XMFX/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a compact, high-efficiency boost (step-up) switching regulator designed for space-constrained power applications requiring stable voltage conversion. Operating over an input voltage range of 2.7V to 14V, this current-mode DC-DC converter can generate output voltages up to 20V, making it ideal for portable, industrial, and communication devices. With an integrated 1.4A switch and 1.6MHz fixed switching frequency, the LMR62014 enables the use of small inductors and capacitors, achieving one of the highest power densities in its class. Its SOT-23-5 package (2.92x2.84x1.08mm) ensures minimal board space usage while maintaining excellent thermal efficiency.

Designed for efficiency and simplicity, the LMR62014 achieves greater than 90% duty cycle, allowing it to maintain regulation under low-input and high-output voltage conditions. The device includes internal frequency compensation, eliminating the need for external components and simplifying design. Protection features such as cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown ensure reliable operation, while a logic-level shutdown pin reduces quiescent current to less than 1uA, significantly extending battery life.

Key Features:

  • Wide Input Voltage Range: Operates from 2.7V to 14V for versatile system compatibility.
  • High Output Voltage: Boosts output up to 20V, ideal for portable and sensor systems.
  • Integrated Power Switch: 1.4A internal switch provides efficient power conversion.
  • High Switching Frequency: Fixed 1.6MHz operation allows use of small inductors and capacitors.
  • High Duty Cycle: Over 90% duty cycle supports higher boost ratios and stable output.
  • Low Shutdown Current: <1uA in shutdown mode for battery-powered applications.
  • Cycle-by-Cycle Current Limit: Provides robust protection against overload conditions.
  • Thermal Shutdown: Prevents damage due to overheating.
  • Internally Compensated: Simplifies design and minimizes external component count.
  • Compact SOT-23-5 Package: 2.92mmx2.84mmx1.08mm for high power density designs.
