LM25011MYX/NOPB – Buck Switching Regulator IC 2A MSOP-10

The LM25011MYX/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a robust, high-voltage 2A constant on-time (COT) synchronous step-down (buck) switching regulator designed for efficient, low-cost DC/DC power conversion. With an input voltage range of 6V to 42V (and up to 45V absolute maximum), this regulator is ideal for industrial, automotive, and communication applications requiring stable, high-current outputs from unregulated or battery-based sources. Using a constant on-time control architecture, the LM25011 provides fast transient response, minimal output ripple, and no need for external loop compensation, significantly simplifying design while ensuring excellent load regulation. The integrated 2A N-channel buck switch, startup regulator, and internal ripple control further minimize component count and system cost. The device features an adjustable output voltage starting from 2.51V, and its valley current limit detection ensures a smooth transition between constant-voltage and constant-current operation without foldback. A Power Good (PGD) output indicates when the output voltage reaches within +-5% of its set value, supporting system monitoring and sequencing. Additional protections such as UVLO, thermal shutdown, soft-start control, and gate drive under-voltage lockout ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key Features:

  • Wide Input Voltage Range: Operates from 6V to 42V; tolerates up to 45V.
  • High Current Capability: Integrated 2A N-channel buck switch for efficient power delivery.
  • Constant On-Time (COT) Control: Ensures ultra-fast transient response and minimal design complexity.
  • Adjustable Output Voltage: From 2.51V and above for flexible power rail generation.
  • Adjustable Current Limit: Enables smaller inductors and optimized designs.
  • Stable with Ceramic Capacitors: Reduces output ripple and component cost.
  • Adjustable Soft-Start: Limits inrush current during startup.
  • Power Good Output: Signals when output is within 5% of target voltage.
  • Adjustable Frequency: Up to 2 MHz switching frequency for compact designs.
  • Built-In Protections: UVLO, thermal shutdown, current limit, and maximum duty cycle protection.
  • Precision 2% Feedback Reference: Ensures tight voltage regulation.
  • Compact and Thermally Efficient: 10-pin MSOP (HVSSOP) package for dense PCB layouts.
