Gravity STCC4 True CO2 Sensor With Temperature And Humidity Monitoring For Indoor Air Quality Applications

The Gravity STCC4 True Carbon Dioxide Sensor is a highly cost-effective 3-in-1 air quality monitoring module designed for accurate indoor environmental sensing and large-scale deployment projects. Powered by the Sensirion STCC4 gas sensing chip, the sensor uses Thermal Conductivity (TC) measurement technology to provide stable and reliable true CO2 concentration measurements. Unlike inferred air quality sensors, the STCC4 directly measures carbon dioxide levels, making it ideal for indoor air quality monitoring, ventilation control, and smart building applications.

In addition to CO2 monitoring, the module integrates a Sensirion SHT40 sensor to simultaneously measure ambient temperature and relative humidity. Supporting a CO2 measurement range from 400ppm to 5000ppm with an accuracy of ±(100ppm + 10%), the sensor provides comprehensive environmental data through a standard I2C interface. Operating from 3.3V to 5V, the module is compatible with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32, and other microcontroller platforms. Its compact design, easy integration, and affordable cost make it an excellent choice for multi-node air quality networks, smart homes, building automation systems, classrooms, and STEM education projects.

True CO2 Measurement

The Gravity STCC4 CO2 sensor uses Sensirion's innovative Thermal Conductivity (TC) technology to directly analyze the physical thermal properties of the surrounding air and determine absolute CO2 concentration (400-5000 ppm). It has a built-in Automatic Self-Calibration (ASC) algorithm that provides long-term stability and precise accuracy. Say goodbye to false estimates and instead base your HVAC automations, air quality alarms, and smart home systems on data that you can actually trust.

Unmatched Cost-Effectiveness for Scalable IoT Networks

Thermal Conductivity technology reduces production and operational expenses greatly compared to classic NDIR or PAS sensors. This high accessibility enables developers, engineers, and educators to create multi-room air quality networks or large-scale distributed IoT deployments without exceeding hardware budgets. It offers a highly viable option when deploying dozens of high-priced professional sensors is not financially feasible.

3-in-1 Sensing with Automatic Compensation

The addition of the onboard SHT40 sensor elevates the module from a single-purpose gas detector to a full environmental node. It continuously monitors ambient temperature and humidity, and uses this data to automatically correct CO₂ measurements. This maintains consistent accuracy in changing indoor climates, provides three key environmental measurements from a single device, and simplifies the overall system architecture.

Seamless Integration and Plug-and-Play Design

The standard Gravity I2C interface helps to expedite hardware development. The wide operating voltage range of 3.3V to 5V assures native compatibility with common microcontrollers including Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi. The plug-and-play feature eliminates the need for breadboards, soldering, or sophisticated level-shifting circuitry, considerably decreasing development time and speeding up the transition from prototype to finished product.

Low Power Consumption for Continuous Monitoring

The module is designed for modern, energy-conscious applications and has a very efficient power profile. With a continuous measurement current of only 950 μA and a deep sleep mode drawing only 1 μA, it is designed for battery-powered smart home nodes and remote environmental monitoring stations that require long-term, uninterrupted operation.
