Description
The SGP40 Air Quality sensor is based on the new SGP40 digital VOC sensor chip from Sensirion, a well-known manufacturer. Using Sensirion's CMOSens technology, the SGP40 offers a complete sensor system on a single chip, including a temperature-controlled micro-hotplate and a humidity-compensated indoor air quality signal. In combination with Sensirion's powerful VOC algorithm, the sensor can directly evaluate indoor air quality. It has low power consumption (2.6mA), a fast response time (2s), and a small size. The sensor can be used to evaluate air quality without the need for calibration.
The Gravity SGP40 Air Quality sensor has an easy-to-connect Gravity interface, making it suitable for long-term indoor projects, such as retrofitted air purifiers and kitchen hoods. C and Python libraries are also provided for use with different main controllers.
Note: VOC index is obtained by converting the detected ethanol equivalent in air.
