The FE-URT-1 is a multifunction USB-to-serial signal converter and servo bus programmer designed specifically for configuring, debugging, and controlling Feetech SMS series RS485 smart servos and SCS series TTL single-bus servos from a host PC or MCU UART interface. Integrating a full-speed USB 2.0 serial chip with a linear low-voltage differential regulator circuit, the URT-1 converts USB signal to either 5V or 3.3V UART serial levels and routes the signal into two independent servo interface channels - channel A, an asynchronous half-duplex RS485 level port for SMS series servos using a 5264-4AW connector, and channel B, an asynchronous half-duplex TTL single-bus port for SCS series servos using a 5264-3AW connector - allowing both SMS and SCS servo types to be connected and controlled through a single serial port without reconfiguration or interface swapping between servo family types.

The hardware automatic direction control circuit on both the RS485 and TTL channels manages transmit-receive switching in the half-duplex communication protocol entirely in hardware without requiring an additional enable IO pin from the host MCU or explicit direction control commands in the host firmware, substantially reducing MCU port usage and firmware complexity in embedded servo control builds where manual direction pin management across multiple half-duplex interfaces would consume meaningful firmware and IO resources.
