Description
The Raspberry Pi Camera Module is equipped with a five-megapixel fixed-focus camera capable of supporting video modes such as 1080p30, 720p60, and VGA90, as well as stills capture. It connects to the Raspberry Pi via a 15cm ribbon cable attached to the CSI port. Accessible through the MMAL and V4L APIs, the camera module also has numerous third-party libraries available, including the Picamera Python library.
The camera module is very popular for home security applications, and in wildlife camera traps.
