Aluminum Alloy Heat Sink with 5V Cooling Fan for 1/10 RC Model Car - Active Motor Cooling for 540, 550, and 3650 Brushed and Brushless Motor
The Aluminum Alloy Heat Sink with 5V Cooling Fan is a purpose-designed active motor cooling solution for 1/10 scale RC model cars, combining a precision-machined aluminum alloy heat sink body with an integrated 5V cooling fan to provide forced-air thermal management for 540, 550, and 3650 class brushed and brushless motors during sustained high-load and full-throttle driving sessions. Motor overheating is one of the primary causes of premature motor failure and performance degradation in 1/10 scale RC car operation, where sustained full-throttle acceleration, heavy climbing loads, and high-ambient-temperature outdoor driving consistently push motor winding and magnet temperatures beyond the passive cooling limits of the motor alone. The aluminum alloy heat sink transfers heat away from the motor can surface through direct contact conduction, increasing the effective thermal mass and surface area available for heat dissipation, while the 5V cooling fan actively moves air across the heat sink fins to accelerate convective heat transfer beyond what passive aluminum contact cooling alone achieves.
The 5V fan is powered directly from a spare port on the RC receiver, requiring no additional wiring harness, separate BEC module, or battery connection beyond what is already present in the standard 1/10 scale RC car electrical system. This receiver-powered design keeps the installation process straightforward for builders at all experience levels, with the fan operating continuously whenever the receiver is powered without requiring a dedicated power switch or ESC BEC tap. The heat sink is finished in red anodised aluminum for a visual upgrade alongside the functional thermal management benefit, and the hard plastic fan housing and mount components provide structural rigidity for the fan assembly under the vibration and impact conditions of 1/10 scale RC off-road and on-road driving. At 60 grams, the complete assembly adds modest weight to the 1/10 scale chassis, and the approximate 30 x 30 x 10mm fan dimensions keep the overall installation footprint compact relative to the motor bay space available in most 1/10 scale RC car chassis designs.
