Description
If you have many chips that you might want to communicate over USB but don't want a hub, the Adafruit TS3USB30 1 to 2 USB Switch is a clever breakout board for the TI TS3USB30 that allows you to connect one or two USB devices to a single port. Because it is specifically made for USB, this breakout can handle high bandwidth USB 2.0 connections up to 480 Mbps. It will connect either one or the other.
The procedure of using it is rather straightforward: to connect to a USB host device, such as a computer or host-capable microcontroller, use the single "upstream" connection. The breakout pads located at the bottom or the USB Type C port can both be used. Next, attach two distinct USB peripherals to the D+, D-, ground, and power sources.
