The OpenMV Cam H7 R1 is a compact yet powerful MicroPython-programmable machine vision camera designed to make computer vision simple and accessible for engineers, students, and makers. Equipped with an OV7725 image sensor, it allows real-time vision applications such as color tracking, object detection, face recognition, and motion analysis at high frame rates. Instead of working with low-level C/C++ code, you can write scripts in MicroPython, giving you the flexibility to quickly prototype and deploy machine vision applications while still maintaining control over I/O for hardware interaction.
At its core, the board is powered by an STM32H743VI ARM Cortex M7 processor running at 480 MHz, with 1 MB RAM and 2 MB Flash, providing enough processing power to run machine vision algorithms in real-time. The modular camera system includes a 2.8mm lens on a standard M12 mount, allowing you to swap lenses for specialized imaging needs. With its combination of high-speed I/O, integrated LEDs, and modular expansion, the OpenMV Cam H7 R1 is an excellent platform for robotics, AIoT, automation, and computer vision learning projects.
