The Adafruit ESP32 Feather V2 is a groundbreaking redesign that takes the ESP32 chip to new heights. With numerous upgrades and enhancements, this version stands as a completely revamped product, offering improved functionality and expanded capabilities. One of the most significant improvements is the memory upgrade. Unlike its predecessor, which had 4 MB Flash and no PSRAM, the V2 boasts a remarkable 8 MB Flash and 2 MB PSRAM. This increased memory capacity opens up exciting possibilities for larger and more complex projects.
The ESP32 Feather V2 also introduces several new features to enhance user interaction and customization. An additional tactile switch user button is conveniently located on input pin 38, providing extra control options. Moreover, an added NeoPixel mini RGB LED with a controllable power pin brings dazzling lighting effects to your projects. To facilitate seamless integration with I2C devices, the V2 includes an extra STEMMA QT port. This plug-and-play interface simplifies connections and enables effortless communication with compatible sensors and peripherals.
In response to user demand, the USB Type C port replaces the Micro B connector. This modernized interface offers improved durability and convenience, ensuring a reliable connection for data transfer and power supply. For optimum power efficiency, the ESP32 Feather V2 incorporates a separate controllable 3.3V power supply dedicated to the STEMMA QT port. This innovative design allows for ultra-low power consumption, even when sensors are attached, making it an ideal choice for energy-conscious projects.
Rest assured of the board's power efficiency as it has been thoroughly tested and verified. With measurements taken using a PPK, the V2 draws a mere 70uA from the Lipoly battery in deep sleep mode and 1.2mA in light sleep mode, showcasing its exceptional energy-saving capabilities. The ESP32 Pico module featured in the V2 is significantly smaller than its predecessor, allowing for clear marking of breakout pads and the addition of extra mounting holes. This compact design provides greater flexibility in project layout and expansion. Additionally, the USB-to-serial converter has been upgraded from CP2102 to the CH9102F. This advanced converter ensures seamless uploading at a speedy 921600 bps, enabling swift firmware loading without any compatibility issues.

Low Power friendly! In deep sleep mode we can get down to 80~100uA of current draw from the Lipoly connection. Quiescent current is from the power regulator, ESP32 chip, and Lipoly monitor. Turn off the NeoPixel and external I2C power for the lowest quiescent current draw.
