The ZED-F9P modem is uniquely equipped with moving base support, allowing both the base and rover units to move while maintaining precise positioning. This capability is ideal for UAVs, enabling applications like autonomous landing on moving platforms or following a designated object. Additionally, the modem supports attitude sensing, leveraging the relative positioning of base and rover modules to derive precise orientation data for vehicles and tools.
For high-precision GPS requirements, the 7Semi ZED-F9P modem offers survey-in mode, enabling base station operation and RTCM 3.x correction data generation. Its comprehensive communication interfaces, including USB-C, UART, I2C, and SPI, simplify connectivity to various systems. The Qwiic connector ensures solder-free integration, while the SMA connector and built-in coin cell battery holder enhance its functionality and usability.

The 7Semi GPS-RTK2 sets a new benchmark in high-precision positioning, featuring the renowned u-blox ZED-F9P module. This state-of-the-art GNSS solution supports multi-band RTK and delivers up to 10mm three-dimensional accuracy. With this module, you can pinpoint the X, Y, and Z coordinates of any object with an accuracy roughly equal to the width of a fingernail. The ZED-F9P is capable of acting as both a rover and a base station, giving you flexibility for a variety of high-precision applications.
Using the Qwiic-compatible interface, no soldering is required—simply plug it into your system. For traditional setups, 0.1"-spaced pins are broken out to support standard breadboard integration. A rechargeable backup battery is included, which retains satellite data and configuration for up to two weeks, significantly reducing time-to-first-fix by enabling warm starts.
The board supports survey-in mode, allowing it to function as a base station and generate RTCM 3.x correction data for RTK setups. The ZED-F9P module offers extensive configuration options including geofencing, adjustable I2C addresses, variable update rates, and high-precision RTK updates up to 20Hz.
Additionally, the 7Semi GPS-RTK2 provides five simultaneous communication interfaces:
USB-C (enumerates as a COM port),
UART1 (3.3V TTL),
UART2 for RTCM reception (3.3V TTL),
I2C (via Qwiic connectors or pins),
SPI.

The F9P receives a wide range of signals when paired with a good antenna. The 7Semi GPS RTK2 board is easy to implement and performs well with good accuracy. It quickly recaptures location after going to sleep, and we’ve had no issues so far. It started up without a hitch, locking onto dozens of satellites, and the clock improvements began immediately. A fantastic board, offering access to all the essential pins. More so this superb board is supper economical as well.
