7Semi EG800AK LTE 4G Cat-1 bis Mini Industrial Modem with USB-C - Quectel EG800AK-CN, 10 Mbps Download, UART and AT Command Interface for ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, and Embedded IoT Systems
The 7Semi EG800AK is a compact LTE 4G Cat-1 bis industrial modem board built around the Quectel EG800AK-CN modem IC, providing reliable cellular connectivity for IoT, industrial automation, telemetry, remote monitoring, asset tracking, and embedded connectivity applications in a developer-friendly 62 x 40mm form factor with four mounting holes for enclosure and panel integration. The Quectel EG800AK-CN is a Cat-1 bis single-antenna LTE modem supporting LTE-FDD bands B1, B3, B5, and B8 alongside LTE-TDD bands B34, B38, B39, B40, and B41, covering the frequency band allocation used by major Indian and Chinese LTE operators for broad carrier compatibility across both regions without band-specific modem variant selection. Cat-1 bis delivers download speeds up to 10 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5 Mbps - sufficient bandwidth for cloud-connected IoT data streaming, industrial gateway uplink, OTA firmware updates, and real-time telemetry transmission without the hardware cost and power consumption of Cat-4 or higher modem solutions in applications where peak throughput is not the primary system requirement.
The board is designed for straightforward integration with the full range of popular embedded development platforms, including ESP32, STM32, RP2040, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and Linux SBCs, exposing UART TX and RX serial communication pins for direct modem control via the standard AT command set without USB-to-serial adapter hardware between the host microcontroller and the modem. A USB Type-C connector provides both power supply input and modem USB communication for host PC development, firmware flashing, and diagnostic access, with onboard power regulation circuitry converting the USB-C input to the modem's required supply rails without external regulator components. Hardware control is extended through dedicated KEY and RESET control pins for programmatic modem power-on, power-off, and reset from the host microcontroller without manual physical button interaction, enabling fully automated modem lifecycle management in unattended IoT and industrial deployment scenarios. A Nano SIM card slot, U.FL and IPEX LTE antenna connector, network status indicator LEDs, and power status LED complete the hardware feature set, with an external LTE antenna included in the kit for immediate deployment without additional antenna sourcing.
