7Semi 8-LED Addressable RGB Stick Module, 5V, WS2812B-V5 Individually Controllable LEDs for Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi

The 7Semi 8-LED Addressable RGB Stick Module has eight WS2812B-V5 LEDs soldered in a single line on a compact PCB. Each LED combines the control circuit and the RGB chip in a 5050-size package, forming a complete addressable pixel. Every pixel supports 256 brightness levels per colour, which gives 16,777,216 colours in total, with a scan frequency of 2 kHz. The high refresh rate helps avoid visible flicker when the lighting is captured on a video camera.

The module needs only one data line, so it is simple to connect to Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers. The control circuit and the LED share a single 5 V power source. A built-in signal reshaping circuit rebuilds the waveform at each pixel, so signal distortion does not build up across a long chain. Modules can be cascaded through the DIN and DO ports, with a data rate of 800 Kbps. At a 30 fps refresh rate, a chain of 1024 or more pixels is supported. The colour consistency between pixels is high, which makes the module well-suited for decorative lighting, indicators, and display projects.

Key Features

  • LED Type: 8 WS2812B-V5 addressable RGB LEDs in a 5050 package
  • Individual Control: Each LED is controlled separately through a single data line
  • Colour Depth: 256 brightness levels per colour, 16,777,216 full-colour combinations
  • Scan Frequency: 2 kHz for low flicker on video cameras
  • Operating Voltage: 5 V, shared by the control circuit and the LED
  • Data Protocol: Single-wire NZR communication at 800 Kbps
  • Signal Reshaping: Built-in circuit prevents waveform distortion from accumulating
  • Reset Circuits: Built-in electric reset and power-loss reset circuits
  • Reset Time: Greater than 280 us, which avoids false resets and supports low-frequency, low-cost MCUs
  • Cascading: DIN and DO ports for chaining, with 1024 or more pixels at 30 fps
  • Transmission Distance: Up to 5 m between any two points without extra circuitry
  • Colour Consistency: Precision internal oscillator and voltage-programmable constant current control

Applications

  • Full-colour modules and LED soft or hard light bars
  • LED guardrail tubes and decorative lighting
  • LED screens and indoor or outdoor irregular video screens
  • Marquee displays on electronic products and electrical equipment
  • Status indicators and notification lighting in Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi projects
  • Prototyping and learning projects for addressable LED control
