Description

The 74LVC125A is a quad buffer/line driver with output enable inputs that control the three-state outputs (nOE). A HIGH on nOE leads the outputs to enter a high impedance OFF state. Inputs can be powered by either 3.3 or 5 V devices. This functionality enables these devices to function as translators in situations with both 3.3 V and 5 V. Schmitt-trigger activity at all inputs allows the circuit to tolerate slower input rise and fall times. This device is completely described for partial power down applications that use IOFF. The IOFF circuitry stops the output, preventing potentially harmful backflow current through the device when it is turned off.
