This 5.83inch E-Paper E-Ink Display HAT is designed for Raspberry Pi and features a resolution of 648×480 pixels. It provides a black/white dual-color display and utilizes an SPI interface. The display offers a low power consumption, wide viewing angle, and a paper-like displaying effect without requiring electricity. It is ideal for applications such as price tags, shelf labels, and industrial instruments. The display retains the last content for a long time, even when power is down. It does not have a backlight and is capable of refreshing with minimal power. The HAT is equipped with a standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO extension header, making it compatible with Raspberry Pi boards and Jetson Nano. It can be easily connected to controller boards like Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, Arduino, and STM32 through its SPI interface. The onboard voltage translator ensures compatibility with 3.3V/5V MCUs. The HAT comes with development resources and a manual, including examples for Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, Arduino, and STM32.

Advantages Of EINK

E-paper display utilizes microcapsule electrophoretic technology for displaying, the principle is: charged particles suspended in clear fluid will move to sides of microcapsule when electric field is applied, making the microcapsule become visible by reflecting ambient light, just as traditional printed paper.
E-paper display will clearly display images/texts under lamplight or natural light, requires no backlight, and features nearly up to 180° viewing angle. It is usually used as e-reader due to its paper-like effect.

    This is a very good product, the display is very clear and the size is pretty big, it is easy to install, and the manual is good. I use it with my Raspberry Pi 3, it works very well. I can recommend this product.
