YDLIDAR GS5 Linear Array Solid-State LiDAR 70–1000mm 85 FOV, 0.54 Resolution
The YDLIDAR GS5 Linear Array Solid-State LiDAR is a compact and highly reliable distance sensing solution designed for precise obstacle detection in demanding robotic and industrial environments. Engineered to eliminate the mechanical wear and fragility of traditional rotating LiDARs, it delivers over 10,000 hours of maintenance-free operation. With a fine angular resolution of 0.54° and a wide 85° field of view, the GS5 provides detailed and stable environmental perception across an effective detection range of 70mm to 1000mm. Its solid-state architecture ensures consistent performance under vibration and direct sunlight, while achieving obstacle detection accuracy down to 6mm. This makes it an excellent choice for AGVs, service robots, and industrial automation systems requiring compact, durable, and precise LiDAR sensing.
Key Features
Wide Application Compatibility
The GS5's 85 field of view provides extensive coverage for complete obstacle mapping, and its 70mm minimum blind zone enables precise close-range detection. The accompanying Point Cloud Viewer software allows for real-time visualization, data logging, and debugging, easing system integration and testing.

Solid-State Design for Reliability
The YDLIDAR GS5 has a solid-state design with no moving parts, which eliminates mechanical wear and ensures a service life of 10,000 hours. Compact dimensions (48.5x25x13.5mm) enable easy integration into space-constrained applications, while Class I eye-safe operation provides safe deployment in consumer and industrial settings.

High-Precision Distance Measurement
The GS5 has an excellent angular resolution of 0.54 and can identify objects as tiny as 6mm in diameter. It provides multi-stage precision with ≤3% error between 70-300mm, ≤5% between 300-600mm, and ≤8% up to 1000mm. The sensor's consistent performance under varied illumination circumstances (up to 25klux sunlight resistance) allows long-term operation in a variety of situations.

Flexible System Integration
The sensor communicates using a conventional UART interface, ensuring compatibility with microcontrollers, PLCs, and computers. The provided USB adaptor allows for instant PC connection and assessment, while sensor chaining allows up to three units to function on a single UART line. Additionally, a Linux SDK is available for developers to create bespoke applications.
