The TPS63030DSKR from Texas Instruments is a high-efficiency buck-boost converter designed for systems powered by single-cell Li-ion or multi-cell NiMH/NiCd batteries. It operates from 1.8V to 5.5V, delivering a regulated output voltage (1.2V to 5.5V) — ideal for maintaining stable performance as battery voltage drops.

The device uses a synchronous four-switch topology with automatic transition between buck (step-down) and boost (step-up) modes. This ensures continuous regulation regardless of input conditions. With up to 96% efficiency, 50uA quiescent current, and Power-Save Mode, it is an excellent choice for portable, battery-operated electronics. The 2.5mmx2.5mm VSON-10 package offers a small footprint with excellent thermal performance.
