The TPS62A01DRLR from Texas Instruments is a high-efficiency 1A synchronous step-down (buck) DC/DC converter designed for compact power management solutions in space-constrained applications. Part of the TPS62A0x family, this converter integrates high-side and low-side MOSFETs to deliver up to 1A output current with exceptional efficiency. At medium to heavy loads, the device operates in pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode at a fixed 2.4 MHz switching frequency, enabling small external components and fast transient response. During light-load conditions, the converter automatically enters Power Save Mode (PSM) to maintain high efficiency across the entire load range. The device’s adjustable output voltage (0.6V to VIN) provides flexibility for various power rail requirements. Integrated features such as soft-start, overcurrent protection (HICCUP mode), thermal shutdown, active output discharge, and optional power-good monitoring ensure robust performance and reliability.
