The TPS62825DMQR from Texas Instruments is a high-efficiency, synchronous step-down (buck) DC-DC converter designed for compact, battery-powered, and low-power applications. Delivering up to 2A continuous output current, it combines ultra-low quiescent current with excellent transient performance for optimal power efficiency and fast response. Operating from a 2.4V to 5.5V input range, the TPS62825 supports output voltages as low as 0.6V with 1% feedback voltage accuracy across a wide temperature range (–40 C to+125 C). Based on DCS-Control topology, it ensures stable operation, low output ripple, and fast transient response — ideal for powering microcontrollers, FPGAs, sensors, and wireless modules.

The device automatically transitions into power-save mode at light loads to extend battery life or can operate in forced-PWM mode for minimal output voltage ripple and fixed switching frequency. It integrates an internal soft-start, Power-Good signal, and 100% duty cycle mode for high efficiency during low-voltage operation. The TPS62825 includes robust protection features such as short-circuit protection with HICCUP mode, thermal shutdown, and overvoltage protection. Packaged in a compact 6-pin 1.5mmx1.5mm VSON (QFN), it provides outstanding power density and performance in space-constrained designs.
