The TPS62290DRVR from Texas Instruments is a high-efficiency 1A synchronous step-down DC/DC converter optimized for battery-powered portable applications. Designed to operate from a 2.3V to 6.0V input range, it supports single-cell Li-ion and other low-voltage battery systems, providing stable power for mobile phones, wearable devices, and portable electronics. Operating at a 2.25 MHz fixed switching frequency, the device enables the use of small inductors and capacitors, achieving a compact and low-profile power solution ideal for space-constrained designs.

The TPS62290DRVR automatically enters power save mode (PSM) during light-load conditions to maintain excellent efficiency across the full load range. For noise-sensitive applications, it can be forced into constant frequency PWM mode via the MODE pin, ensuring minimal output voltage ripple. With up to 96% efficiency, low quiescent current (15 uA), and less than 1 µA shutdown current, it is highly suited for ultra-low power systems.
