The TPS62160DGKR is a high-performance, easy-to-use synchronous step-down (buck) DC-DC converter designed for compact, high power density applications. Operating with the advanced DCS-Control topology, it delivers fast transient response, excellent output voltage accuracy, and superior efficiency across the entire load range. Supporting a wide input voltage range of 3V to 17V, this device is ideal for systems powered from single-cell Li-Ion batteries, 12V rails, or other unregulated DC sources.

The converter operates at a fixed 2.25MHz switching frequency, enabling the use of small external inductors and capacitors for a compact, cost-effective design. It provides up to 1A continuous output current with output voltages adjustable between 0.9V and 6V, and supports 100% duty cycle mode for low dropout operation. The Power Save Mode (PSM) automatically engages under light-load conditions, maintaining high efficiency with a quiescent current of just 17uA. Additionally, the shutdown current is less than 2uA, ensuring minimal power draw when inactive. Featuring enable (EN) and power good (PG) pins, the TPS62160 allows for flexible power sequencing in multi-rail systems.
